Bruce Springsteen LIVE in Sydney!

Here at GoB4uDont our mission is to inspire you to, as the name suggests, go places before you don't. This mentality also encompasses DOING things before you don't, TASTING things before you don't, EXPERIENCING things before you don't and basically LIVING your life before you don't!

In terms of musical experiences, specifically LIVE musical experiences, there is one artist you absolutely have to see in concert. His name is Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen..!! (yes it actually is)

So at this point, typing this seems a little like stating the obvious. I'm sure the vast majority of people reading this are thinking..."Oh I should see Bruce Springsteen in concert...really?? Wow thanks for the tip genius!" And yes you're right but it could also end up being one of these things you intend to do one day but never do. Let's just take a second and remember that Bruce is turning 68 this year...!!

If you've had the pleasure of watching The Boss do his thing, you'll know that the level of energy he displays in his shows is through the roof. He appears to have the energy of three 21 year old kick boxers and certainly more energy than I have at age 28. But surely...surely this cannot continue indefinitely?? He's defying science at this stage but how much longer can he be performing at this level?

This is why I'm writing this blog. Not to tell you something as obvious as "you should go see Bruce Springsteen in concert." But simply as a reminder to you that Bruce is getting relatively old now, even if it doesn't seem so..!!

I had the tremendous pleasure of seeing Bruce for the 4th time two nights ago in the Qudos Bank Arena by Sydney's Olympic park. Just like the other 3 concerts, Bruce gave 110% effort. With sweat gradually changing the shade of his entire shirt, he played for 2 hours straight before even taking any sort of break. I had an incredible seat positioned slightly behind the stage. From my seat I could see the band and Bruce very clearly without viewing the screens. The design of the stage also allowed for Bruce to move around and visit different sections of the audience. It's very clear that Bruce cares a lot about his audience and he makes a real effort to spend time in different spots allowing as many people as possible to have a close up encounter. Despite the great location of my seat, I couldn't help but feel slightly jealous of those standing at the front of the stage. Multiple times throughout the show, Bruce sat or lay down next to the fans giving them a pretty unique personal experience.

If I'd become a doctor, and not wasted my student funding on trying to become a music producer, I'd probably advise 67 year old male patients to start avoiding certain physical activities. These activities might include mountain biking, parkour and other things that require agility, strong muscles and bones. Another thing I might advise against is taking unnecessary risks like crowd surfing. Well Bruce's Doctor obviously forgot to mention this during his last check up. During the show he made his way to the centre of the arena and lay back on the crowd who then carried him back to the main stage. This was incredible to watch and also made the Australian news.

Bruce delighted some of his female fans by inviting around 5 or 6 women on to the stage to dance and sing along with him performing, his classic hit, 'Dancing in the Dark.'

I'm not gonna type out the history of Bruce Springsteen here. That's what Wikipedia is for. The purpose of this article is to hopefully make you aware that Bruce is getting on a bit and you might not have that long to check his concert off your bucket list. So maybe find out when he's performing near you and GO BEFORE YOU DON'T..!!
