The BEST Bacon & Egg roll in Sydney

I love breakfast..!! It's the first thing I think about when I regain consciousness. It's also the last thing I think about before fall asleep. It's my favourite meal. Hands down. But I have to admit that I can't really get on board with the new organic, pretentious, morning yoga meals. I'll take a full English breakfast over organic muesli and fat free yoghurt every time..!!
Now in Sydney they LOVE their bacon and egg rolls. It is definitely an Aussie breakfast regular. But sometimes, it can be hard to find a good one. Some places pre-make their rolls and keep them under a hot lamp to keep them warm. This saves them time, which of course saves them money. But guess what? They sacrifice something much more valuable....a returning regular customer. Seriously, this is a culinary crime because, as you can imagine, this leaves the roll dried out..!! It loses all it's natural juices. Or grease...whatever you want to call it?
I know the pressures of trying to buy a bacon and egg roll. You don't know whether it's going to be a good one until you buy it and find out. Trust me, I know, I've bought loads of under par ones. It's like trying to find a new place to get a haircut. You don't know it's a terrible hairdresser until you look like you lost a fight with a lawnmower.
Well don't worry I am here to help. Allow me to introduce to you...all the way from The Bean Cafe Bar & Bistro in Rozelle........
The Best Bacon & Egg Roll in Sydney, Australia!!

Now I don't say this lightly. I have had A LOT of bacon and egg rolls. And don't get me wrong. A lot of them have been good but none of them come close to this little beauty from The Bean in Rozelle. It really is something else.
As you can see from the picture above, they don't try to cut costs by serving a pitiful amount of filling and hoping you're too ravenous to notice like some other places.
They don't throw together any old random bread to filling ratio like some other places.
They don't buy the cheapest bread or buns in order to make a larger profit like some other places.
They do quite the opposite.
They give a generous sized filling on, what is my FAVOURITE thing about this friggin' masterpiece....a BRIOCHE BUN..!!
It really does make the difference..!! Plus, on weekdays before 10am, the roll and a coffee will only cost you $10..!!
You can find The Bean at 612 Darling St in Rozelle. Being there is a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere is funky (not smelling) and the general theme of the Cafe is that of a relaxed, chilled out, soulful vibe. With plants in amongst the furniture and the green and red colour scheme, the Bean really is a tremendously relaxing environment to be in.
Whilst you enjoy your food, you are treated to music from legendary artists as well as visually enjoying the old vintage concert posters from artists such as The Beatles, David Bowie and Ray Charles. These combine to make a pretty incredible looking wall..!!
The Bean really is a great time for all your senses!!
The Cafe is child friendly, dog friendly (in the outdoor seating area) and, with friendly staff added into the mix, that is a whole bunch of friendly..!!
Despite my obsession with their breakfast, I should also mention they serve dinner meals Thurs - Sat for a very reasonable price.
So whether you want brekkie, lunch, dinner or just a good coffee in an awesome little place, you can't go wrong here.
Head to The Bean and have, what they call, and I agree...a Coffee with Soul.
